Outlining
-
The Outline from the Lawrenceville online writing lab;
requires free Adobe
Acrobat PDF software if you don't already have it installed on
your computer. (Note:
use the sentence outline at the end as your model, not the topic
outline. Also, by my standards, if there is a 1, there does not
necessarily have to be a 2; in other words, you may have only)
one concrete example to support a given letter).

Documenting Electronic Sources
Electronic sources can be very tricky to cite in a paper, since there are
usually no page numbers. Documentation is especially difficult. For
example, an electronic source is often a republication of a print source,
and in this case,
the print source should be cited as well as the electronic one.
Unfortunately, there are many guides that present confusing and/or
contradictory advice on how to cite and document electronic sources using
the MLA format. The only
official way to cite electronic sources in MLA format is presented in the
MLA Handbook for Student Writers, Fifth Edition, a printed
book available at the
reference desk (and for sale from the MLA,
online or in bookstores). The
following websites present
partial versions of MLA format. When in doubt, consult the MLA Handbook.
