The First Discovery
- In 1858, William Parker Foulke made the first discovery in North America.
- Foulke was vacationing in Haddonfield New Jersey when he found these large bones which
had features of both a lizard and a bird.
- This was the first complete dinosaur skeleton found
- It was named "Hadrocaurus foelki"
- This discovery was extremely important, because it allowed scientist for the first time, to
to see the specific bone variations that made up thesaanimals.
- Scientist could now determine wheather or not they walked on two or four legs.
- They could also visualize what they might have looked like.
- If anyone would like to see the original skeletons, they are on display at the
Academy of Natupal Sciencas Philadelphia.
- The sandpit in Haddonfield New Jersey remains to be a big tourist attraction, as the
human fascination with these unique and complex animals, continue to bewilder us all.

What the Bones tell us about the different species
- Based on the features of the skeletons, scientist found out that two species existed..
- Each specie was grouped according to their hip structure, as the Ornithischia had a
BIRD hip, and the Sauriscchia had a LIZARD hip.
