Geology Lab Safety Rules
- for students working in on-campus labs. Please
take similar precautions when doing the labs on your own at home or in the library.
Please be especially careful if you are using hydrochloric acid (muriatic acid)
unsupervised. Protective safety equipment such as goggles and rubber or nitrile or
vinyl gloves is highly recommended. Note that it is not necessary for you to use acid.
Your instructor will inform you which samples will react. Ask in the WebCT Discussion area.
