Let me share some thing really special with you about a song Mother loved.

Jesus Tender Shepherd

Jesus, tender Shepherd, hear me;
Bless thy little lamb tonight:
Through the darkness be thou near me,
Keep me safe till morning light.

All this day thy hand has led me,
And I thank the for thy care;
Thou has warmed me, clothed and fed me;
Listen to my evening prayer.

Let my sins be all forgiven;
Bless the friends I love so well;
Take us all at last to heaven,
Happy there with thee to dwell.

Amen.

Now think about this song!

A child(we) sing(s) " hear me, bless me keep me safe.
Such conviction and faith!

There is no doubt that Jesus is there and will take complete care of you.

And goes on to acknowledge Jesus' hand in their life,
and thank Him for care warmth,

clothing and food.
There is no doubt that in following Jesus you will be warmed, fed,
clothed and cared for!

Next, not with begging but complete conviction, we pray that our sins
be forgiven, and our friends be blessed.

Jesus will forgive your sins and bless you and your loved ones.

And finally, we pray that we will join Jesus in heaven in the end where we will all be happy.
There is no doubt that we will all join Jesus in Heaven and be happy!!

This is a song that mother sang from the time that she was a child.
She sang it for all her children and of course we all sang it in church.
Mother  was a devout Episcopalian who lived

her life as closely to Christ as she could.
This was born out in how she handled even the smallest of situations. Here is an example.

When Mother was pregnant with me in 1944, long before things like sonograms ,
she was having a portrait being painted. It was war time and dad was away on the high seas.
Mom and Dad already had two sons and really wanted a little girl.
She asked the nun, Sister Mary Carnillias, who was painting the portrait if it would be
appropriate to pray for a daughter. She   said,   "Pray God willin' for your daughter."

So mother prayed "God willing" I would be a daughter.

It is nice to know that you were the answer to someone's prayer.

I really am so blessed.

I guess that is why I have always tried so extra hard to give something back.
