The above sections are taught in an ONLINE format within iCollege. Students do not need to come to any of the GPC campuses for instructional purposes. Full-term classes start August 20, 2012. Second half-term classes start October 15, 2012 (second half-term courses are taught in an accelerated format -- students will complete the same amount of work as students in the full-term version of the course but in half the time). To begin in an online class, you must (1) obtain a user name and password, (2) complete the online iCollege orientation, and (3) log into your class on the start date. All assignments will be submitted to TurnItIn.com, a plagiarism detection service. Students must submit their own original work prepared specifically in response to the assignments as explained in the current version of the course.

* Students in RELI 1301 - World Religions will be required to undertake site visits to observe and report on religious services conducted at two different locations.

FALL 2012 TEXTBOOKS

PHIL 2020
Logic and Critical Thinking

The required textbook for my Fall 2012 section of PHIL 2020 is: Patrick J. Hurley, A Concise Introduction to Logic, eleventh (11th) edition (including the Learning Logic 6.0 CD-ROM and access privileges to the Aplia online learning site) (Cengage, 2012; ISBN 9781111994402). Previous editions of this textbook are not supported in this class.
NOTE: A bundled edition of the Hurley textbook has been ordered with the GPC Online bookstore and is required for this course. The ISBN for the bundled edition has been listed via the course registration system, the instructor's web page, and with the GPC Online bookstore. If students choose not to use the GPC Online bookstore, they remain responsible for securing the contents of the bundle which includes: the eleventh edition of the Hurley textbook; the Learning Logic 6.0 CD-ROM; and, access privileges to the
Aplia online learning site. The Learning Logic 6.0 CD-ROM is a helpful interactive learning tool for mastering the course material. The Aplia online learning site contains the required exercise assignments which will partly determine the student's grade in the course.

RELI 1301
