Miscellaneous Movies with Action Script
Play Horse Shoe Toss
A Very Dinky Slide Show Yes, the graphics are crude, but the
programming is robust and versatile. This is my first attempt at building a viable slide show.
Now all I need is better buttons and some photographs. I am hoping to install the slide show
on the library's Facebook page.
Making Circles...could be used with a quiz or tutorial.
Sales Tax Calculator. Yes, this Flash program figures price plus sales tax.
Random Phone Number Generator.

Fourth Floor, an interactive map of the library's fourth floor.
Take a Quick Quiz with animated answers.
Visit the Clarkston Handout Collection Now you
can visit the Clarkston Handout Page with this handy widget that links to both the handout page
itself, and to a random handout from a group of twelve. I designed this widget for use in
environments such as Facebook.

Finding Current Events Databases in GALILEO. Watch an interactive movie
about databases that are good for searching current evnts. Note: this is an alpha stage
production so I do need your feedback.
Choosing a Topic. Follow four students as they
use the library's resources and a variety of strategies to choose topics. Click the
controls or comic balloons to move through the movie. Note: this movie uses modular
programming. It also uses a traditional size stage.
Practice Shelving Books and watch what they do!
Five Books on Sleep. Put in a title (case sensitive and has to be exact) and
get back a call number.
GALILEO Password Tutorial (alpha version). An interactive tutorial to teach students how
to get the GALILEO tutorial. It's amazing what screen shots can do.
GALILEO Password Tutorial (more extensive alpha version). An interactive tutorial
with sound and a sensitive screen that teaches students how to find the GALILEO password.
Clock Used in Presentations: This could be part of a multi-scene movie used
as a presentation. Note the control buttons at the bottom.
How to Shelve Books An enanced shelving game with feedback and full drag
and drop. This program uses functions and complex if/then statements.
Convocation Demo -- Finding a Comic Book: This is a five scene presentation
film. It is not interactive, but it has some interesting tweens in it and scripted control buttons.

Game Movies made with Action Script
Prize Wheel. Spin the wheel and get a prize. Now Improved!
Clean The Nursery -- Now!. This is a game that actually gives you points for
a job well done.
Expandable Drag and Drop Game. This is another drag and drop game with somewhat
cleaner graphics that gives points, when a user delivers an object to a target. This could be a prototype
of a matching of fill in the blanks tutorial.
Magic Eight Ball. You can play Magic Eightball. A function provides the
random message and the eight ball even jiggles when you click Start.
Slot Machine. Yes, our very own one armed or shall we say one buttoned bandit.
Try and get two or three of a kind.
Play with Blocks. Play with a dozen blocks in their own burlap bag, and when
you get tired of a cluttered stage, just sweep them up with the broom.
Highly Improved Drag and Drop Game. This is a highly improved bit of drag and
drop coding. You can move each of the kitties around the stage as much as you want. Like all drag and drop work,
this has huge implications for more work-related movies.
Feeling Proud Drag and Drop Game. This drag and drop game uses only
two functions to control four objects. It is the start of larger and more impressive drag and drop games and/or
tutorials.
Flying Pretzel Game. Try and keep the rainbow pretzel flying all over the stage by
pressing the mouse button and dragging the mouse all over the pretzel. It's a bit tricky and you can always
park or return the pretzel with the "Cleanup" button.
Trig and Grapes. This is an unlikely combination and a very sophisticated game,
though it scores no points. Set the parameters and watch a bunch of grapes move in an elipse. You can make
as many elipses as you want, and the grapes move backwards as well as forwards.
