A Final Word: Applied Grammar III (ENSL 0091) is a course in writing and the thought processes involved in the exchange of ideas. As writing entails thought, as thought is the origin of writing, Applied Grammar III is very much a course in thinking. Therefore, begin this course with the idea that you will think, write, examine writing examples, think some more, and then write some more over the next 16 weeks. If you begin with this idea, and if you remind yourself of this throughout the semester, you will have a better understanding of the course, and you will find this course not only a challenge but a valuable experience to prepare you for the demands of College Composition I (ENGL 1101) and for the demands of undergraduate work in the United States.
